Wash day, without the plastic

Most dog shampoo is mostly water — in a bottle you throw away.

It is the wash without the bottle. A solid oat bar that lathers in your hands, rinses clean, and lives on the edge of the tub instead of in a landfill.

  • Oat kernel extract and oat powder — the oat content is the whole point of this bar
  • All-natural, no detergent smell, nothing that lingers on the coat
  • No plastic bottle — the bar is the whole product
  • Lathers in your hands, rinses out fast
  • 5.8 oz solid bar — lasts far longer than it looks

Why a bar beats a bottle

You're paying to ship water.

Liquid dog shampoo is largely water, packaged in plastic, shipped heavy, and thrown out when it's done. A solid bar removes all three problems at once. It also doesn't spill, doesn't get knocked into the tub, and doesn't glug half a bottle out when your dog shakes.

  • No water weight, no plastic, nothing to recycle
  • Can't spill or get emptied by a wet paw
  • One bar replaces multiple bottles

The mistake almost everyone makes

Most dogs need washing far less often than people assume.

Every 2–4 weeks

That's the general guidance for most dogs — and washing more often than needed works against you.

Sources: PetMD and AKC, on bathing frequency

Bathing too frequently strips the natural oils out of the skin and coat, which is a common cause of the exact dry, itchy skin people are usually trying to fix by bathing. If your dog is scratching after a bath, the answer is usually a gentler wash less often — not a stronger one more often.

  • Over-washing strips natural oils and dries the skin out
  • Double-coated breeds are the most sensitive to it
  • Oat is the gentle option when skin is already reactive

Where it fits

The one thing in the routine that runs out.

Clippers and a hammock are bought once. A wash bar gets used up — which is the honest reason to put it on repeat rather than remembering to reorder it. Pair it with the paw balm and you've got the whole wash day covered in one go.

  • Pairs with the paw balm for after the bath
  • Both together as the Bath + Soothe Kit
  • Or set it to arrive on its own schedule and stop thinking about it

How to use it

Wash day, simplified

  1. Wet the coat

Warm water, all the way down to the skin. Most under-washing is really under-wetting.

  2. Lather in your hands

Rub the bar between wet hands, then work the lather into the coat. You can also go bar-to-coat directly on a big dog.

  3. Rinse until it runs clear

Then keep rinsing a bit longer. Leftover product is the other common cause of post-bath itching.

Questions people actually ask

How many washes do I get?

Far more than a bottle of the same price, because you're not paying for water. How long it lasts depends on coat size — a Frenchie will get many months out of one bar, a Golden fewer.

Is it safe for puppies?

It's a gentle, all-natural oat formula. For very young puppies, check with your vet first — most guidance is to keep baths minimal at that age anyway.

My dog has itchy skin. Will this fix it?

Oat is the standard gentle choice for reactive skin and a lot of dogs are more comfortable on it. But persistent itching can be allergies, parasites or infection — if it doesn't settle, that's a vet conversation, not a shampoo one.

Does a bar actually lather?

Yes. Wet it and rub it between your hands and it lathers up properly. On a big or dense coat it's easier to go bar-straight-to-coat and then work it in.

How often should I bathe my dog?

General guidance for most dogs is every two to four weeks, adjusted for coat and lifestyle. More often than that tends to dry the skin out.

Where do I keep it between washes?

Somewhere it can drain and dry — a soap dish or a shelf edge. A bar left sitting in water will soften and go faster.

Same wash. No bottle.

The simplest swap in the whole routine.
